If you have done all that is to be done so as to monopolize a certain product, wouldn't you be left without anything to do on such a product afterwards? I think this may very well be the damn philosophy that those damn Microsoft programmers thrive on! I believe that, in doing so, Microsoft products are more prone to attacks than any other product from other developers. If those damn wusheads still don't see a connection between the security problems their products have and this fact, then I don't know why in hell they're in the field of software development!
I think during the time that
dial-up internet connections were the main access points to cyberspace, Microsoft was already thinking of ways and means in which to monopolize the technology. They did this by bundling their internet site browser, called the Internet Explorer, with their operating systems. This eventually led to the near extinction of the Netscape internet site browser, a fact we very well see today.
But this has also led to about a dozen attacks on the security holes the
Internet Explorer has. Fairly recently, a trojan disguised as an actual image file has infected a lot of computers using Microsoft's internet site browser. Other internet site browsers, those from other developers, are not faced with the same problem. This just goes to show that if you have already taken the largest share of the market, then you wouldn't be pushed to develop your product further!
