Fast and
affordable internet connections have made more people gain access to the information on the internet. It may be very helpful, yet on the downside, it may even be destructive as well! This is because the nature of people tend to overpower their basic characteristics of compassion and a sense of equality. They force each other in a game wherein the one with the most information, not to mention the most access to seemingly secure internet sites, emerge as the celebrated winner! We have seen virus artists land high-paying jobs, banking information hackers applauded in prisons, and spyware companies getting richer and richer by the minute! This is why the institution that is the prime target of hackers nowadays is also the corporation that, arguably, the one that gave us the internet along with the information technology this platform holds!
I have read an article on my past internet musings stating that the
Microsoft Corporation, the epitome of modern software computing, recently took quite a hacker hit! The hackers, naming themselves as a Turkish hacker group, attacked the Microsoft server site located in France. Microsoft have also reported that no substantial damage was done to their France server site, and that the problem was well contained before it could escalate further into a full-blown hacker problem. I think this is why those hackers and virus programmers land high-paying jobs. That would be because they are now paid to safeguard the system they once attacked since they would know how unsecure these sites are in the very first place! If evil begets evil, this is definitely one of the main incantations of such a proverb!
