The
modern information age provides information access to the most number of people at cost-effective means. Then again, does it really? This is because of another house bill that was rejected by a certain house committee. This would be one of the main reasons free or open internet access is starting to be more of a pipe dream for most people.
We have seen the emergence of larger and larger telecoms with each convergence. Plus, internet service providers such as Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google are clashing with each other to provide the most cost-effective, efficient, and highly accessible internet service. Now, certain pressure is building up from these clashes, mainly because of the concept of video on demand!
With this, current giant internet service providers, those that we know of, are having some sort of tension with the equally large and powerful telecoms. They are all vying for the top post as the main internet service provider of the world. But,
wireless technology seems to be a hindrance to the plans of these corporations. I guess this is what digital information technology holds for the people of the world. After all, you can't restrict equal information access once open internet access has been drafted. Yes, even if it is still a viable concept, the promises it holds is too much of a pipe dream, and thus cannot be restricted by anyone.
